Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College junior Andy Studebaker has been named as a Third Team honoree at defensive end on the 2006 Football Gazette Division III preseason All-American Team. Sophomore cornerback Pete Ittersagen earned honorable mention preseason All-American accolades.
As a sophomore last season Studebaker led the Thunder with 19-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-79 yards) and 7-1/2 quarterback sacks. He tallied 55 total tackles, with 28 solo stops. He was ranked second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in tackles for loss and 13 th among all Division III players in the category, while he was also sixth in the CCIW in sacks. Studebaker was a First Team All-CCIW defensive line selection last season
Ittersagen had an impressive rookie season in 2005 with 55 total tackles, including 32 solo stops. He led the Thunder with four interceptions, including one for a touchdown return. Ittersagen was the only freshman to earn selection to the All-CCIW football team last season.
